Hello, readers! Welcome back to this week’s Trailer Tuesday! This week is a decent-sized offering of seven trailers featuring all kinds of genres, from quirky indie dramedies and animated adventures to comic book superheroes and sci-fi thrillers.
First up, in Asteroid City, Academy Award nominee Wes Anderson immerses us into another of his whimsical, eccentric worlds populated by Jason Schwartzman, Academy Award winners Tom Hanks, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody and Academy Award nominees Edward Norton, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Carell and Matt Dillon. A college graduate returns to his hometown, where he unexpectedly becomes a symbiotic host to an alien Scarab that grants him a superhuman powered suit in DC’s Blue Beetle. Pixar’s back to tug on our heartstrings some more and play cupid between two disparate fire and water elements in the animated rom-com Elemental. Chris Hemsworth returns for another dangerous, high-stakes mission in Extraction 2. Academy Award winner Ben Affleck finds him struggling to maintain control as he investigates a series of reality-bending heists that may or may not be connected to his missing daughter in Hypnotics. In Master Gardener, Joel Edgerton is a horticulturist, who is tasked with taking Sigourney Weaver’s troubled grand-niece under his wing, only to have dark secrets from his past threaten to undo the new life he’s made for himself. And lastly, Poppy, Branch and their entire gang of fellow trolls are back for more musical adventure in Trolls Band Together.
